Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting the planning and bidding process for construction projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors based on project plans and specifications.
- Review drawings, blueprints, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Solicit and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to develop competitive project bids.
- Analyze project risks, pricing, and cost trends to ensure accurate estimates.
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records.
- Assist in preparing bid proposals and supporting documentation.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Preferred proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera P6, and InSite Elevation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines.
